Rodez Town Aveyron Years Just -- What the ****!!!

On my Google alert for "France profonde" today, I was rather pleased to see some of my content.

Until....I saw that it came from here.

I won't grace this with a screenshot -- not that I can remember how to make one.

And I'd love to shoot off an incendiary comment, but of course the "comment" function doesn't work on this new pseudo-blog, so eloquently entitled "Rodez Town Aveyron Years Just."

Damn you, "dustdiary," if you're going to steal my posts at least get the accents right! I hate to think of one of my favorite local restaurants being known as "Goats et Couleurs!"

This has happened to me too, several times. I've tried to figure out ways to fight it but to no avail.
By the way don't leave a link--it gives them more rank which is how they get hits and make money.

For lack of a better sentence, that is so lame. Are you going to contact the owner of the blog or wordpress? I'd say that this bizzaro blog was created to generate traffic and ultimately money from google ads but there aren't any.

Seriously, that is very un-cool.

Yes, contact Wordpress. They can shut the blog down.

Oh, I am sorry this occurred..`what's with these people?

It's scary how much time some people have on their hands...

Try not to let it bother you too much. Unless of course you can do something positive about it, like complain to Wordpress and get them shut down :-)

Thanks for all of your comments and support. I'm not really bothered that much -- despite the title -- as it hardly seems this site could be any threat to FP! I'll keep an eye on it and if anything becomes of it, will complain to Wordpress as several of you suggested.

It gave me a creepy feeling more than anything else!

Goats and Couleurs.

Sounds....um...
interesting...

Creepy!
You should flag that blog, really.

And they didn't even bother to edit your post... that's pretty pathetic. When you read it, it's obvious it doesn't come from there. Wordpress definitely sounds like a good idea.

Bonjour, Betty!

I can't believe that someone actually stole your postings and is trying to pass them off as their own. I've had other bloggers (unknown to me) put up partial posts of mine, then offer links to my original post, but as far as I know, no one's actually plagiarized me.

I'd be furious! At least no one visits the fool's blog. And yours is far, faaaar more aesthetically pleasing.

Salut,
Marjorie

Marjorie,

Actually, this blog is so bizarre that I feel like it was maybe automatically generated somehow. And the posts are from way back. Very strange.

Dustdiary has also stolen my blog content, and I've listed others that they've stolen:

http://mcgath.blogspot.com/2008/02/blog-piracy-on-dustdiarycom.html

Does Wordpress really have any ability to stop this pirate site from operating? It seems unlikely to me.

The domain dustdiary.com is registered with godaddy.com. I recommend reporting them to abuse@godaddy.com. It's hosted with domainsbyproxy.com, which may be spammer-friendly. I've complained to both but received no response yet.

How wierd, how strange...and how LAZY.

I wonder how many more clones are out there of other blogs...but I dont see any google ads, whats in it for them, do they make money out of it or what?
