Paris: a jumbled view

Today I'm taking advantage of Blogger's time warp to get my daily post up before midnight on Friday the 14th! I sure didn't have much blogging time on that date here in France, as I flew up to Paris for work and was lucky to get home on my scheduled flight.

One-day work trips to Paris are not times when I get to see a lot of the city, but I always take my camera and try to get s shot of something.

This was the view from the 4th floor conference room of the Maison des Universités. Like many views out of the back side of Paris buildings, it was a jumble -- but an ever-fascinating one.

So much to see in that slice, Betty. Lucky you!

Yes, I am lucky to get to fly to Paris a few times a year for work, even if it's just for one day. I try to take in the atmosphere as much as I can, because the timing is pretty tight.

I can just smell the autumn air in your photo of Paris. The smell of the city is always the thing that comes back to me when I catch a glimpse of it. It's nice that you got up there for a quick peak!

I really like those views of Paris! We had a great one when we stayed at the Villa Lutece Port Royale on Rue Jenner in the 13th a few years ago. To me, they are just as intriguing as any other view in Paris. It's the jumble of lines, I think. Betty, you have captured that so well.

Is this in the 14th arrondissement? Just felt like it when I first glanced at the photo....checking the old intuition.

No, it was a view out of the "Maison des Universités" across from the Jardins de Luxembourg... it's in the 5me, but I think not that far from the 14me. So you weren't that far off!
