Palin fakes her way through prank phone call from "Sarkozy"

With only a few more days to go in this stressful (for some of us) American presidential campaign, now for some comic relief.

Sarah Palin was the victim of a prank phone call from a Montreal comedy team, Les justiciers masqués, and fell for it hook, line and sinker. (This is true; her campaign has already reacted to the incident, saying "C'est la vie.")

Listen to the hilatious audio here, or on the above site.

Some can consider this questionable journalism, but do I feel sorry for her? With all the unproven garbage she's slinging at Obama? Not one bit!

And I find her inability to pick up on, and react to, the strange tone and content of the conversation pretty frightenin'.

Her answers actually reminded me of the now famous Katie Couric interviews, and I'm not alone in this analysis.

Except this time the questions were utterly ridiculous; Palin doesn't seem to get the difference, blithely blathering away and giggling like a schoolgirl who's been called by her celebrity idol through most of the "interview."

Anyway, enough of that -- time to channel some pro-Obama energy.
This may be my last pre-election political post on La France Profonde. If any of my expat readers want to join in on my virtual election night (morning) chat event, hook up with me on Facebook.

I wish I could go party it up in Toulouse, but I have eight hours of class on Wednesday the 5th! God knows what state I will be in! Coherent enough to teach, I hope...

Oh Betty

I have had so much laughs last night that I forgot to put it on your site ( Hubby told me about it whilst I was preparing supper )

Daily Kos has the accurate transcript and translations of the subtleties of the Quebecois French expressions:

I listened to the clip yesterday. It was so bloody hilarious. Anyone still think she's ready? Yikes!

I mean, Biden had the wherewithal to say "Is this a joke?" in a REAL interview when some Florida anchorwoman started raving about Marxism...couldn't she at least have figured out that something was very, very strange? No, she was probably thinking "oh, those wild and crazy Frenchmen!"

Thanks for the link, Beaver. That was SO funny.

1. she has done business with canada and she does not know the name of the prime minister.
2. The "Nailin Palin" insertion should have "mettre la puce a l'oreille"
3. all the other jokes about other politicians /wives are off the table according to protocol and she did not even caught on

She can be a talk show diva but she is not ready to get access to the "NUCULAR COD"

Unbelievable that she would think a head of state would actually call her up to have a chat.

I think I'll listen to this after the election and only if Obama wins. I'll be too freaked out otherwise.

To all -- Doesn't she think this type of chat would start with a bit more decorum? Tinsie may be right though -- this was funny but would NOT be funny if somehow McPain squeaked through. It really doesn't look like it will happen though.

I heard it yesterday and cracked up...i don't feel sorry for her, not one bit. I agree that she must be a bit out there not to pick up on the little things the DJ was saying about how hot Carla is in bed, etc... Palin just laughed and went on and on. Classic.

Alisa and Bruce came to my life drawing evening last night, and Alisa and I have been emailing back and forth all day. It was our first meeting, but we met through our blogs. She has told me to explore more blogs so here I am. I am not far from you- in the Lot. This is my first full winter in the Lot. I usually escape to warmer climes or at least New York. So it would be nice to meet up for a bowl of soup or at least a coffee if you are not to far away...
