Looks like they left a houseplant on the mantle. Or is that just growing there?

Hi Betty! I'll try to read your blog sometimes because I'm impressed by your background! I gave it o my best friend who was also surprised. I did love the chocolate shoe you pet before.

Beautiful photos. We finally got a battery charger for our camera so hopefully we can start taking photos as well. Nothing like a good, beautiful photo!

Also wanted to add that it seems we have a few things in common: I'm a teacher here in France, I've been in education for 12 years (high school and University), and I grew up in....Walla Walla, WA. I saw you are originally from Olympia so I thought I'd mention it.

Someone wanted something awfully bad from this home~maybe there was something hidden in this area? I love where your eye travels with your camera!

WCS -- Those plants are just growing there...I suppose you were joking?

French for a while -- I have a number of friends and family members who went to Whitman. I love Walla Walla, especially now since the wine boom has hit. Thanks for your comment.

Jann -- I especially like the traces of the fireplace in this photo. I wish I could get out and about even more to take this kind of shot.

The photo reminds me very much of scenes in London in the 1950's, when wherever we went cranes were swinging huge balls (excuse me) to demolish the remains of homes ruined by the blitz. All that was left was the wallpaper clinging to the crumbling walls.
