Looking up 1: taken on the day I met a blogging friend who became a real friend

A quick warning to anyone planning on following my NaBloPoMo foray this month: it's going to be all about photos.

The theme is "looking up." I realize that since I started blogging in December 2005 and, at the same time, taking a number of digital photos, I have become much more aware of things above me, and have taken many photos of them that have never worked their way into this blog. This is my chance to use them.

For some posts, such as today's, I'm going to try to entice you with a little clue that will make you wonder where, when and with whom...or else I will tell the story behind the photo.

It's going to be fun.

I love the contrasting colors and textures! Where was this photo taken?

Ah-hah, you'll have to wait a few more days to get that information. I want to see if the person I was with when I took it drops in...:)

I love the vintage number and the carving in the blue area. Since the Tour de France is going right by you this year, I may need to pick your brain on some of the areas favorite stuff! I can't wait to see all your pictures!

I love that shade of blue; looking up is a very good prompt, is it not? I'm looking forward to hearing your stories this month, B

Betty, Merci for visiting my blog and writing a comment. Sorry you had trouble getting to it. Try again soon. We were in Paris last year and I absolutely loved it. Did not get a chance to see the rest of your lovely country. Your town looks very inviting. Can't wait to cross the pond again. In the meantime, I'll get my French "fix" from visiting your blog again soon!

Loulou -- I'm so glad you dropped in! To all, this photo was taken in Albi on the first day I met my former blogging buddy and now real-life good friend Loulou! We had a wonderful time eating, strolling, taking photos, and buying cheese of course!

Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Been a bit out of touch!
I recognized it immediately. That was such a wonderful day! Loved Albi and loved meeting you!
