"Mairie" is a French town hall and all weddings must include a civil ceremony there, then the couple is also free to have a church ceremony (which is often on the same day.)
I'm rather surprised no one commented on the uninvited feathered guest...
Sorry Marie, it's not in my town. That's the problem with Wordless Wednesday! This is the Mairie de Mirepoix in the Ariège department -- we went there recently for a weekend trip.
